BAMT response to the BBC Radio 2 programme - Music Therapy with Edith Bowman
BAMT is delighted that this programme is highlighting the therapeutic benefits of music and the different ways in which music supports the wellbeing of so many.
Whilst we disagree with the use of Music Therapy within the title we are delighted to now be in dialogue with Edith Bowman and hope that there will be an opportunity for more discussion about what ‘Music Therapy’ is and the potential for an interview with a Music Therapist to discuss the specific psychotherapeutic intervention of Music Therapy and the skills of fully qualified and HCPC registered Music Therapists.
The power of music is phenomenal and it is enthralling to hear Edith discuss with her guests how music has been supportive for them.
