Working with Words in Music Therapy: Developing a Music Therapy Specific Framework for Verbal Interventions

20 July 2024

This online training is open to music therapists and psychotherapists that are interested in the integration of music and words within their clinical practice. Working with words within this context is a neglected area of focus in the profession, despite many practitioners being confronted with the challenges and tensions when transitioning between verbal and musical mediums. The training includes theory, explorative discussions, and case study material to develop clinical thinking and confidence within this area of the work. Max Ryz is a music therapist, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor registered with the HCPC and accredited with the BPC. He works in the NHS as Senior Psychological Therapist on the psychodynamic stream within the Tower Hamlets Psychological Therapies Service, and he is in private practice, working with adults and adolescents.
