BAMT Announces new Start Up Fund
As part of its aims to increase awareness, and improve access to music therapy for those who could benefit from it, BAMT is delighted to announce its Music Therapy Start Up Fund to support the development of new music therapy services in the UK.

Outgoing chair, Donald Wetherick, says, "BAMT is committed to supporting the development of music therapy across the UK and we are delighted to be able to announce this funding stream to help enable this."

Three grants of up to £5,000 area available and applications are invited from organisations seeking to establish or purchase new or additional music therapy provision for their service users. Organisations may be in the state, private or third sector, and should be registered companies and/or charities. Priority will be given to services and provision in areas of the UK that have low levels or no provision of music therapy, as well as to services in neo-natal music therapy, and dementia care, which are BAMT's current priority areas for music therapy development. Other suitable service will also be considered.

Successful applications will demonstrate how the service will meet local needs of service users, a commitment to providing continued funding, an appropriate process of evaluation/monitoring of the service, and a business plan for continuing the service beyond the first year.
