THERAPY LAW – Safe Practice: Confidentiality, GDPR and Ethical Therapy – a BADth CPD day

This workshop looks at confidentiality in counselling and psychotherapy, our records and the law, and then goes on to explore some of the ethical dilemmas that can arise in counselling and psychotherapy practice with adults, children and families, and the application of law, guidance and ethics to practice, including:
? Confidentiality, record keeping and lawful disclosures
? Update on the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018
? Ethical dilemmas in psychotherapy and ethical problem solving

The workshop offers scenarios for group exploration, and participants are also welcome to bring their own anonymised practice examples for discussion.
Barbara draws from her practice experience as a solicitor, psychotherapist and mediator. She has published widely on topics relevant to therapy and the law, and also runs an information and consultancy service for counsellors and psychotherapists.
