TAnDem Conference 2018 - The Arts and Dementia: Impact and Implementation

The Arts and Dementia: Impact and Implementation will be held at the Jubilee Conference Centre, Triumph Road, Nottingham NG8 1DH on Thursday, 20th September, 2018. Artists, people living with dementia, carers and academics will discuss the arts as a medium for leisure, care and learning in dementia. To demonstrate some approaches we are thrilled to welcome cartoonist, Tony Husband, author of Take Care, Son. Blue Skies Singing Group, will be performing and there is a chance to see a preview of a new, research-based play, Silva Lining’s Care Plan, as well as original work by internationally-acclaimed photographer, Cathy Greenblat.

TAnDem researchers will report their findings on how the arts can best be accessed by people with dementia and at what approaches to evaluation are most suitable. To discuss the wider context for the arts and dementia in the UK we are pleased to welcome the following speakers:

Rebecca Gordon Nesbitt, Researcher, All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Arts and Health
Helena Reynolds, Arts Derbyshire
