We are pleased to share the findings from the Membership Survey, carried out in Autumn 2025. Over 200 members completed the survey, providing valuable insight into members’ experiences, the current Music Therapy landscape, and how BAMT can continue to support Music Therapists and Music Therapy as effectively as possible.
The report reflects both areas of strength and areas requiring further attention. Members highlighted the value they place on BAMT’s CPD programme, employment support, professional development opportunities, job listings, and opportunities to connect with peers across the wider Music Therapy community.
The findings also point to important ongoing priorities, including professional recognition and visibility for Music Therapy, workforce sustainability, communications and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. In particular, the survey highlights the pressures many Music Therapists are facing around employment and financial sustainability, reinforcing the need for continued advocacy and campaigning for Music Therapy.
The BAMT team and trustees are deeply grateful to all members who took the time to share their perspectives. The report provides important insight and direction, and will help inform our ongoing work. Thank you to each member who invested their valuable time and energy, we really do appreciate it.

Taking Note: a Drop-in with BAMT to discuss the survey
We will be hosting one of our online drop-in sessions so members can discuss the survey results with us informally, and we will answer any questions as best we can. The drop-in will take place on Monday 29 June, 6pm – 7pm. Members can register to attend and submit their questions via their bulletin emails, or emailing us at info@bamt.org.
