Your Need-to-Know Guide for Presenting at the BAMT Conference 2020

We are very excited to have you taking part in BAMT conference 2020 Belfast 3rd – 5th April. 

Room Set up
Please ensure you have provided us with your room set up requirements i.e. Theatre style seating, cabaret style, no furniture etc

Poster Presentations
Please check the right hand of this page for guidance on poster presentations. 

Session Timings
The timings for presentations are 20 minutes for your presentation, 5 minutes for questions, and 10 minutes to set up the next session. Therefore please plan carefully for your presentation to take 20 minutes. If you are new to presenting, we strongly suggest that you rehearse with a timer to ensure that you are within the time limit. Chairs will need to cut off presentations and discussions in order to stick to the time schedule.

All rooms have the following AV, a PC or laptop with audio, data projector, screen and WiFi please confirm if you have any additional requirements.

Musical instruments
We have access to a limited selection of percussion and if you haven’t already requested a piano unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate this. 

Please let us know the minimum and maximum number for your workshop group. It would also be useful for us to know if you can have additional delegates who are observing the workshop but not taking part, and if so, how many observers can attend.

Additional guests
If you are bringing someone to present with you, who will only be attending your session, they will not need to pay a fee. However, please provide us with their name.

Consent, best interest and confidentiality
For those who are including clinical material in your presentation, consent must have been obtained or a best interest agreement should be in place before you can present clinical material at the conference. Please take the appropriate steps to ensure that your client(s)’ best interest and confidentiality is upheld and protected.

Where using your own laptop or mobile device, please make sure that you are password protected. Likewise, if you are using a USB/Pen Drive, please make sure that this is encrypted. We are not asking presenters to send their presentations to us in advance because of issues around confidentiality. BAMT are not liable if your device or files are lost or stolen.

Round Tables
Convenors, please make sure that your panel members have the IT and AV information. Where possible, please combine presentations onto one device or USB/Pen Drive for smooth transitions between speakers.

Wifi will be available and details will be provided closer to the time. 

BAMT are not liable if your device is lost or stolen i.e. you will not be covered by BAMT insurance. We would ask that you take responsibility for your own equipment.

Session timings
Handover between sessions needs to happen swiftly in order for the conference to run smoothly, therefore we would ask you to be at your presentation space 10 minutes beforehand to ensure an immediate handover. Session chairs will be responsible for managing time strictly and we hope you can help them to do this by being well prepared to allow all present to make the most use of each slot.
