Understanding Dementia (February 2019) MOOC

The Understanding Dementia MOOC is a free online course from the University of Tasmania. It is made up of short online video lectures, quizzes and discussions board. There is no formal assessment, however there are quizzes you need to achieve to pass to the next module. It is really simple learning and aimed at all levels of computer and academic skills. The course is open for 7 weeks, however can be completed however soon you work through the modules. I think I spent about 2 hours a week on it.

The course is aimed at all people who work or care for people with Dementia from carers, family, to qualified health professions. The information is very informative but presented in really simple layman's terms and covers the basic pathology, presentation of people with dementia and their care across all stages of dementia.

I highly recommend this course, it is not often free online course like this are available. In May they will also release a Preventing Dementia course if anyone is further interested.

The course is open now but you have until the 8th of March to enrol and start!

Flyer is attached and here is a link to enrol. And please share too if you know anyone else interested.
