European Neuro Convention 2019

The British Association of Music Therapy is delighted to announce the renowned Neuro Convention. The Neuro Convention will run at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, on the 26th and 27th March. The show is attended by music and speech & language therapists, so it is a perfect exhibition for all of our members and donors to network with other like-minded professionals.

Europe’s only trade event for brain and spine experts features 150 expert speakers including Rosanne Tyas who will lead a seminar titled: “Emotional Support and Adaption: Considering Emotional Aspects of Music Therapy with People With a Neuro-Disability.” The seminar will identify how music therapy can assist people with a neuro-disability to express emotions, adjust their present level of functioning, and contribute to an improved quality of life.

The Neuro Convention is located alongside other leading medical and health care conventions, including the Imaging Convention and the Oncology Convention. Furthermore, a Neuro Convention ticket will allow you to attend the co-located Dementia, Care and Nursing Home Expo, a show which contains further relevant seminars for music therapy.

Ian Donaghy will be speaking at the Dementia, Care and Nursing Home Expo on the benefit of music therapy in the care sector and how it can benefit care providers. Ian delivers bespoke learning for clients including the NHS, CQC, and Mind. Moreover, Grace Meadows, Programme Manager for Music for Dementia 2020, will speak on the subject of how music is a necessity for service users with dementia, and will discuss the Music for Dementia 2020 campaign, which plans to make music available for everyone living with dementia.
