Arts 4 Dementia Best Practice Conference 2019, "Towards Social Prescribing (Arts & Heritage) for Dementia"

THIS FIRST CONFERENCE ON SOCIAL PRESCRIBING FOR DEMENTIA IS DESIGNED TO ACHIEVE DIRECTION TO ARTS ON DIAGNOSIS.

The conference is for GPs, social prescribers and those working with the
arts, heritage, creativity, memory and care services.

Presentations will demonstrate the efficacy of cultural engagement to
protect against cognitive decline, and of social prescribing (SP) arts
and heritage as pre- and post-diagnostic support, to override symptoms
and preserve health and wellbeing in the community, with leading figures
at NHS England, Public Health England Care UK and the Baring
Foundation heading the Plenary Debate. Artists, arts organisations and
prescribers will present their SP process, arts workshop practice,
creative befriender training, with SP arts for dementia evaluation
guidance. A volunteer creative befriender consortium, ArtsPALs, will
be launched to support SP for individuals.

Earlybird tickets available now, until 31 January 2019
