WORKING WITH WORDS IN MUSIC THERAPY – CPD Training (Online)
Using a ‘Music Object’ in Developing a Framework for Verbal Interventions

?? Saturday 30 May 2026
? 2:00 – 5:00 PM

Cost £60

This online CPD workshop is for qualified and trainee music therapists looking to deepen their clinical thinking and confidence when using verbal interventions within music practice.

The training explores the concept of a ‘music object’ to consider the musical core of the work whilst engaging with words. Although many music therapists are confronted with the challenges of verbalisation and the tensions it can create, this can be a neglected area of focus within the profession. This workshop creates space to reflect on and develop this aspect of practice.

The training will include theory, discussions, and clinical case material.

Facilitated by Max Ryz - Music therapist, psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor working in the NHS and private practice, with extensive experience in integrating verbal work within music therapy. Currently Senior Psychotherapist within the psychodynamic stream of the NHS Tower Hamlets Psychological Therapies Service.
