The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy® is excited to announce that it will be providing a Neurologic Music Therapy® (NMT™) Training Institute in Birmingham, England this summer! This training will provide participants with clinical training and scientific knowledge to practice within the NMT™ system within their professional scope of practice in two parts.
Part 1: From June 24th- July 24th, participants will have access to 20 hours of online asynchronous training modules.
Part 2: From July 24th-July 26th, participants will attend 16.5 hours of in-person practice sessions in Birmingham, England.
All materials and presentations will be in English.
What is NMT™?
Neurologic Music Therapy® (NMT™) is a standardized, evidence-based clinical treatment system of 20 techniques grounded in neuroscience models of music perception, cognition, and creation. NMT™ uses structured musical exercises to address non-musical brain and behavioral functions, supporting rehabilitative, adaptive, and developmental goals while driving measurable outcomes in motor, speech and language, and cognitive rehabilitation.
NMT™ Professionals work across a range of settings, including in-person care, telehealth, and interdisciplinary treatment teams, serving diverse populations such as individuals with brain injuries, developmental disorders, mental health conditions, and dementia. In addition to music therapists, trained allied health professionals can effectively integrate NMT™ techniques within their certified scope of practice.

License and Professional Affiliation Program
NMT™ is delivered exclusively by NMT™ Professionals who have completed training through the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy®. To ensure best practices, protect the public, and maintain the integrity of the NMT™ system, all training participants will sign a license agreement with the Academy, renewable every five years, to use the NMT™ designation and techniques.
