Pauline Etkin

Pauline Etkin was a teacher and head of music at a Teacher Training College in South Africa. As a music therapist, she worked primarily with children at the Nordoff Robbins charity (NR) and she developed and led the Masters Degree programme. She was CEO for 21 of her 30 years at NR retiring in 2013. She has experience as an external examiner, supervisor of music therapists and is currently President of NR International.Pauline was involved in the Registration of Arts Therapies with the CPSM (now the Health and Care Professions Council) and is an ongoing partner for the HCPC assisting with Registration and Education matters.

She is a Trustee of the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT) and currently Chairs the BAMT Training and Education Committee. She is additionally a Trustee of the Music Therapy Charity.

Pauline was awarded an OBE in December 2012 for services to music therapy and was given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the BAMT.
