Nicola Cunningham, Trustee


Nicola qualified as a physiotherapist in 2000, and specialised in oncology and palliative care at St Bartholomew’s hospital.  She worked as an allied health professional lead at the South East London Cancer network, before becoming a project and later programme manager for the London Cancer Alliance (LCA). She led development of service improvement initiatives and evidence based guidelines for  living with and beyond cancer, including psychological support and rehabilitation in south and west London. She represented allied health professionals on the LCA Clinical Board. 


Nicola holds a post graduate certificate in advancing physiotherapy (focusing on palliative rehabilitation and exercise in cancer), has lectured nationally and internationally on the role of physiotherapy in cancer and palliative care, and for local universities on cancer and cancer strategy. She joined Breast Cancer Haven in March 2016 as Breast Cancer Haven, London Manager with responsibility for the delivery of the charity's vision and mission within its London centre. Nicola has a keen interest in music having studied music at A'level, and been a member of several choirs, bands and orchestras. She is currently a member of the Hanover Choir. She has a good understanding of the role of music therapy across a variety of settings.
